Meet the mob

Our four-legged team
At Thredbo Valley Horse Riding, we take pride in our horses, who are known for their great character, big personalities, and gentle nature. Affectionately called "the kids," they are an integral part of our team and are well cared for in every way. Our horses enjoy plenty of downtime too, with regular rotations that give them 4-6 months of holiday each year—way more holidays than us humans! They even have their own dedicated health practitioner who checks in on the herd regularly. Our herd features a variety of breeds, including some we’ve bred ourselves, ranging from Stock horses to Clydesdale crosses and even Brumbies. Each one shares a passion for their work, just like our dedicated guides. These horses love what they do, and their personality shines through, making every ride an unforgettable experience. We have a deep affection for our older working horses, so when it's time for them to retire, they move to their own special retirement village. Here, they can spend their days in a spacious paddock filled with lush grass and enjoy carrots on demand, ensuring they live out their golden years in comfort and happiness.

Our two-legged team
Our two-legged team- In 2000, Nev enrolled at Yanco Agricultural High School, where he was given the incredible opportunity to work at Thredbo Valley Horse Riding in the Snowy Mountains. During this time, he met inspiring people, rode through breathtaking landscapes, and worked with a variety of horse breeds.
The Snowy Mountains quickly became a part of Nev’s heart. Every chance he got, he returned to work with the impressive horses and connect with the locals, listening to the stories of the pioneering days—the people who inspired the poems and legends of the region. In 2003, Nev made the big move to the Snowy Mountains to work full-time for Thredbo Valley Horse Riding. Then, in 2007, Nev had the opportunity to purchase the business. It was a dream come true. In 2011, Nev met the love of his life, Linda (second only to his herd of horses!). Linda’s dedication to their horses and all the animals they care for is inspiring, and her work ethic is nothing short of remarkable. Together, Nev and Linda make an unbeatable team.Today, they are happier than ever, thriving in both work and love. Their shared passion for the horses and the land they call home is something truly special, and their bond is as strong as the mountains around them.
Over the years, the team has grown to include some of the best professional guides in the country. Their passion for both the horses and their work is truly unmatched. Together, the team operates like a brumby mob—loyal, passionate, and always looking out for one another. They pride themselves on making every ride not only fun but also safe, ensuring that your experience is one you’ll never forget! In 2023, Thredbo Valley Horse Riding reached a significant milestone by earning Horse Safety Australia site accreditation. This achievement reflects our dedication to the highest safety standards in the industry. With upgraded infrastructure and enhanced safety procedures, we are proud to offer the safest horse riding establishment in the area, ensuring peace of mind for all our riders while maintaining our commitment to unforgettable experiences.
